Göttingen

This time, I would like to stop talking about South Africa (I still have a lot of material to show) but in recent days another city has amazed me too and It's not because the Mexican soccer team stayed there to practice before each futboal match during the 2004 world cup.

Göttingen is Located in Lower Saxony, Germany. During the II world war, the city was almost not touched by the Allied bombing becasue there was an informal agreement that Germany wouldn't bomb Cambridge and Oxford while the Allies wouldn't bomb Heidelberg and Göttingen.
The city is an University town, the buildings of the faculties and offices are distributed in the town, so there is not a real campus like in most of the cases. It is possible to find a research center or an office pretty near to the main plaza for example. The Georg-August-Universität ( founded in 1737) was the most visited University in Europe. Some people like the Brothers Grim, Heinrich Ewlad have worked there, also Otto von Bismarck and Gerhard Schöder studied in Göttingen as well as the matematicians Carl Friedrich Gauss, Bernhard Riemann and David Hilbert were professors there.
Until today, 44 nobel prizes are linked to the University via their curriculum vitae, these nobel prizes are:
